Domestic intermodal volume remains strong

IANA, the Intermodal Association of North America, reported continued strength in domestic intermodal shipments in November. Shipments in domestic boxes are well above the same period in 2010 and just off the highpoint for 2011. Shipments moving in international containers fell off in November and remain very close to 2010 volumes. There was no significant fall peak shipping season but the strength of domestic intermodal is encouraging.
