Transportation TIP List: Week of June 4, 2017

While Golden State and Cleveland have been battling it out in the NBA Finals for the third straight year, we’ve been keeping an eye on all of the winning supply chain trends. This week’s TIP List bounces from the latest tech trends such as Uber for trucking and autonomous vehicle testing to news on NAFTA. Check out all of the great transportation coverage below:

  • Texas Poised to be Next to Allow Autonomous Testing: Texas is poised to become the next state to allow testing of fully autonomous vehicles on public roads. The legislation was passed by the House on May 20, several weeks after the Senate unanimously backed the measure.
  • Uber-Type Tech: Why Truckers Need It: Truckers shouldn’t be afraid of Uber-like technologies because their entire aim is to make it easier for shippers and carriers to connect. But what trucking companies should be afraid of is to not have such technology when the competition does.

What technology do you think will have a bigger impact on your operations — autonomous vehicles or Uber-type technologies?
